Labiaplasty in Turkey

Labiaplasty (vaginal lip reshaping)

Labiaplasty is a procedure that reshapes the labia (most commonly the labia minora, sometimes the labia majora) to reduce discomfort and improve symmetry and confidence. Patients usually choose it because of irritation in clothing, discomfort during sport, or a long-standing asymmetry they are tired of adapting around.

At MedMedicals in Istanbul, planning is private and individualized. The goal is a natural result that fits your anatomy, not a “one look for everyone” template. You can ask freely about any combination or concern, even if it is not listed as a standard option, we will advise what is medically appropriate for your case.

What labiaplasty can change (and what it cannot)

Labiaplasty can:

  • Reduce excess labia minora tissue that rubs, pulls, or feels uncomfortable

  • Improve asymmetry when one side is noticeably longer or bulkier

  • Create a more comfortable fit in underwear, sportswear, and swimwear

  • Improve day to day confidence when the issue has been a constant irritation

Labiaplasty does not:

  • Change the vaginal canal

  • Guarantee a specific “ideal” appearance from photos

  • Replace medical treatment for infections or gynecologic conditions that need separate care

The aim is comfort, balance, and a natural look based on your own anatomy.

Is labiaplasty right for you?

Good candidate

You may be a good candidate if you:

  • Have ongoing irritation from rubbing, seams, or sportswear

  • Feel pulling or pinching during movement or certain activities

  • Have clear asymmetry that bothers you daily

  • Want a natural, proportional result and accept healing time

  • Are generally healthy and can follow hygiene and aftercare guidance

Not ideal right now

Labiaplasty may be postponed or not recommended if you:

  • Have an active vaginal or urinary infection (treat first)

  • Are pregnant or very recently postpartum (timing matters)

  • Smoke and are not ready to stop before and after surgery

  • Have uncontrolled medical conditions that increase healing risk

  • Expect perfection or a “standard look” rather than a natural improvement

Technique options (how the plan is chosen)

Your surgeon chooses the technique based on your anatomy, symmetry goals, and how much tissue needs reshaping.

Trim technique

Removes excess tissue along the edge of the labia minora to reduce length and improve comfort. It can be suitable when the main goal is reducing protrusion and irritation.

Wedge technique

Removes a wedge of tissue and reshapes while preserving the natural edge in selected cases. This can be suitable when preserving the border contour is a priority.

Clitoral hood correction (only if needed)

In some patients, a small hood adjustment is considered to balance overall proportions. This is optional and discussed only when it is relevant to your anatomy and goals.

You will be advised which approach fits you and why, based on examination.

Recovery timeline and aftercare

Healing is usually straightforward, but the first days can be uncomfortable. A realistic timeline:

Days 1 to 3

  • Swelling and tenderness are expected

  • You will prefer loose clothing and gentle movement

  • Keep the area clean and dry as instructed

  • Short walks are encouraged, avoid friction and pressure

Days 4 to 10

  • Swelling begins to reduce

  • Bruising fades gradually

  • Many patients feel more comfortable with normal daily movement

  • Avoid tight clothing and prolonged sitting if it causes pressure

Weeks 2 to 4

  • Most daily activities feel easier

  • Remaining swelling continues to settle

  • Avoid friction-based exercise and swimming until cleared

After several weeks

  • Most patients are cleared for full activity gradually after surgeon approval

  • Final appearance becomes clearer over the next months as tissues soften

Follow your surgeon’s instructions, they override general timelines.

Results, scarring, and sensation

Labiaplasty is designed to look natural. Most scarring is subtle once healed, and stitches are typically dissolvable.

Temporary sensitivity changes are common during healing and usually settle. If your main concern is sexual function rather than discomfort or shape, that requires a different medical discussion, and we will be direct about what labiaplasty can and cannot address.

Safety and risks

All surgery carries risk. Possible risks include bleeding, infection, delayed healing, scarring concerns, asymmetry, changes in sensitivity, discomfort during healing, and in rare cases the need for revision.

Risk is reduced by proper candidacy screening, careful technique, and strict aftercare. Be honest about your medical history and medications, it directly affects safety.
